Weber Canyon: As scenic as it is secluded, this spot is one of the best kept secrets in all of Utah. Less than an hour away from Salt Lake City and 10 miles outside Oakley, it’s removed just enough for serenity. It’s easy to see why this location near the beautiful Uintas has become prime real estate. At the top of the canyon and along the banks of the Weber River in Oakley, you’ll find Aspen Mountain, a private gated community. With private access to the river and an easy three miles to Smith and Morehouse Reservoir, Aspen Mountain is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Hunting, fishing, skiing, and hiking opportunities abound. Take a look inside one of the amazing properties here:
This stunning residence, tucked in a grove of shady quaking aspen trees, is the sanctuary you need. A hand-cut granite stone and shake single exterior channels “mountain cottage,” but the fine craftsmanship from outside in showcases the obvious luxury of this cabin home. As you step through the wide, custom front door highlighted by side windows, you’re greeted by a comfortable family room with a towering wood burning fireplace and soaring vaulted ceilings. Beautiful, divided-light windows flood the room with natural light. The room flows naturally into the kitchen, which is framed with custom cabinets, gorgeous dark granite counter tops and backsplash, and Bosch stainless steel appliances. Wide plank hardwood floors and dark décor accents provide a striking contrast and creates a truly cozy, tranquil space for intimate gatherings and solitude.
But the space is certainly versatile, providing ample opportunity for entertainment and connection with the surrounding scenery. The indoor dining area opens out to a wraparound deck with a spiral staircase that leads down to a private forest. You can take your pick: head down a few steps to enjoy a wood fire pit nestled among the trees, or saunter over to covered patio outfitted for a gas fire pit and grill—both areas are excellent for food and conversation and can create enjoyable activities no matter the weather.
Let’s not forget the living space. With three levels and over 2,200 square feet, there is room to grow in this home. The main floor master is complete with a beautiful private deck. The room’s ensuite bathroom features a double vanity, European edgeless glass, wainscoting and impeccable tile work. Upstairs you’ll find a second bedroom, a spacious bathroom with another double vanity, and a lovely loft area that is perfect for office space, a reading nook, stargazing through the skylights, additional sleeping accommodations—or all of the above! The home features a modern hydronic heating system with floor heat in the two lower floors and European heat registers in the loft. The propane tank is buried and out of view, maximizing your enjoyment of the nature right in your backyard.
The partially finished lower level provides endless possibilities with roughed-in plumbing and plenty of room for a large family room and up to two additional bedrooms. The garage door into the lower level gives you easy access in the winter via Snowcat or snowmobile.
