Hidden Valley Haven

By Julie Roberts

This 6,869 square-foot house, located on a .53-acre lot in the Cove at Hidden Valley, is the perfect combination of elegance and comfort. This home has been meticulously remodeled and maintained by the homeowners, Skip and Maddy Warner, who have spared no expense in customizing their abode with high-quality finishes. Due to their efforts, this house functions perfectly as a luxurious family home and as a spacious place to entertain.

This home’s extraordinary style is apparent right from the front door. The gorgeous vaulted ceilings welcome you into the warm and inviting interior which features crown molding and natural light. Revealed through the expansive windows are the stunning views of the mountains and valley. “I love the fact that the home has incredible views on all sides,” says Maddy.

As an interior designer, Maddy Warner, wanted to create her ultimate, dream chef’s kitchen in her home. Fully equipped with Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Bosch appliances, custom cabinets, and a large granite island, it’s easy to see how much this home has benefited from Maddy’s expertise. Also on the main floor, there are not one but two master suites—one of which features a gas fireplace and French doors that open to a large deck that overlooks the expansive, beautifully landscaped backyard and water features.

Maddy and Skip have loved their time in this home, and they have especially appreciated the friendly neighborhood environment. “There’s a strong sense of community here,” says Maddy. She explains how in July the neighborhood works together to mount a huge flag, and during the holidays they set up a gigantic lighted star. Additionally, the home is located directly across the street from the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and is conveniently close to golfing and skiing.

But there’s something else that truly differentiates this home from any other: the fully remodeled and customized “man cave” located in the basement. Skip wanted a place where he could entertain his friends, but he also wanted an area where he could showcase his extensive Native American art collection. With these goals in mind, Maddy designed a unique space with custom book shelves, a wet bar, a master suite, game room tables, window well covers, custom stone columns, and original barn wood beams. Skip was thrilled with results of the remodel, calling his new space “a man cave that is out of Architectural Digest.”

The basement also connects to the outdoors with sliding doors that open to an updated flagstone patio and fireplace with hot tub that leads to the waterfall and pond. It is the perfect environment for relaxing after a long day of skiing, golfing, or hiking. And, of course, there’s always the opportunity to warm up next to one of the home’s five fireplaces.
